What we're up to in 2026

We are feeling ORGANISED (okay okay, and FUN!) this week and wanted to share what we’ve got planned so far for 2026. We’ve had feedback that it’s useful to know dates and prices for our training as early as possible so you can plan them in. In that spirit we thought it would be nice to share our ongoing consultancy projects and explain how you might work with us that way too.

Training

We have three core training offers. Click on the links to take you to the full info about each course.

Student Opportunities 101 is online, 3 hours and powered by NUS Charity. It costs £90 per person. This year we’re delivering it twice, on 10th March & 1st September.

Risky Business is a two-day in person workshop that we deliver with Howden. We’re confirming locations for 2026 right now but we also run this twice and we’re looking at mid-April & mid-November. Tickets are £300 per person and include lunch, snacks, drinks and a snazzy printed workbook.

Anti-racist Student Opportunities & University Sport is designed by Make Diversity Count and Organised Fun, delivered by excellent trainers Osaro Otobo and Alvin Ramsamy. We can do this online over 2 short sessions or in person within a day. Charges vary for this one based on delivery model and participant numbers.

Consultancy

Most of our consultancy practice is bespoke and varies client to client. In 2025 we did a few Student Opportunities Framework Reviews, an academic communities experiment and for the first time we’ve pulled together loads (16!) of SUs to collaboratively problem solve student group safety in outdoor pursuits. We’re super excited about this method of consultancy where a number of SUs team up with us to look at a chunkier issue. Of course we’re also happy to chat about your specific SU challenges and see where we can help.

Our typical consultancy rate is £600 per day.

It’s really great to share that we are fully booked now until July 2026 but we’re looking towards Summer and Autumn to set up some projects. If you’re really organised then start chatting to us now about 2027 project ideas!

Community Building

The Student Opportunities Managers Network is really building momentum now with lively digital meetings, an active WhatsApp chat and over 100 members. Technically it’s for Student Opportunities Managers, but we’re not mega restrictive so if you’re a coordinator or don’t work in opps but want to get involved, please do!

In Summer we’ll be joining the annual conference organised by Coventry SU and we’ll be at Membership Services Conference too.
